About 15 years ago, Women Are Wonderful manufactured a T-shirt with the message "Someday a woman will be PRESIDENT". Women's organizations bought the T-shirts for children and adults and made
money selling them. One Wal-Mart store in Miramar, Florida bought the T-shirt because the manager of the store had a twelve-year old daughter and he said, "Bring me six dozen. My daughter would love this T-shirt."
The T-shirt sold like hot cakes and the one Wal-Mart store now ordered eight dozen of them. The manager said he was happy to give a local woman, Dr. Ann Moliver Ruben, President of Women Are Wonderful, a break. That all changed when a Miami Herald reporter came to interview Dr. Ruben and called the national Wal-Mart office to ask if they were going to buy the T-shirt for other Wal-Mart stores. The answer was No. The reporter was told that T-shirt was political and was against Wal-Mart's policy of family values. They BANNED the sale of the T-shirt.
Dr. Ruben gave this story to Associated Press and women all over this country marched to protest Wal-Mart's decision. After ten days went by, Wal-Mart apologized and bought 50,000 T-shirts.
One woman, Dr. Ann Moliver Ruben, plus thousands of other women showed the world the power of women.

It is amazing that one woman can fight and win against the largest corporation in the world. More people have to stop being silent and stand up for what they believe.
